INTRODUCTION TO HQAI
The Humanitarian Quality Assurance Initiative (HQAI) provides quality assurance services that demonstrate measurable progress in the delivery of humanitarian assistance within the international humanitarian community. The initiative’s prime motivating factor is to bring quality and accountability to affected populations and other stakeholders.
Providing previously unavailable services, such as third party verification and certification against the CHS, as well as delivering consistent measurable data helps increase the operational capacity and efficacy of organizations. Throughout it's work, HQAI, ensures that the voices of people affected by crisis are heard and that they themselves are brought to the forefront of humanitarian programming.
This initiative enables humanitarian organizations that meet compliance criteria of recognized humanitarian standards such as the Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and Accountability (CHS) to publicly demonstrate their commitment to transparent and accountable practices.
