HQAI’s Strategy 2024-2029 for Accountability and Quality in the Humanitarian Sector is Out
Empowering Change: HQAI’s 2024-2029 Strategy for Accountability and Quality in Humanitarian and Development Sectors
We are pleased to announce the launch of HQAI's new strategy aimed at improving accountability and quality in the humanitarian and development ecosystem. This strategic approach focuses on enhancing accountability to people affected by crises by establishing a robust and independent system to audit the work of various actors within the sector. Our efforts are aligned with the Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and Accountability (CHS), and we are committed to expanding our range of verification services to encompass additional quality and accountability requirements.
The key objective of this strategy is to transform the perception of CHS certification from being solely a compliance tool to serving as a guiding framework for embedding accountability-related risks and opportunities into organisational strategies and multiple reporting mandates. We aim to utilise the results of CHS audits for various purposes, such as due diligence, promoting a culture of learning, capacity building, and risk sharing.
We recognise the need for a holistic systems approach that interconnects different stakeholders, initiatives, and solutions to realise these objectives effectively. Scaling these efforts is crucial for driving increased efficiency, improved quality, and the delivery of more effective programs within the humanitarian and development sectors.
At HQAI, we are committed to driving positive change and promoting accountability and quality within the humanitarian and development landscape. We invite all relevant stakeholders to join us on this transformative journey towards a more effective and accountable ecosystem.
Stay tuned for more updates and developments as we continue to drive positive change in this critical sector.
